(TE)STIL is a crossover between dance, sign language and photography, danced by a deaf and a hearing dancer, made for deaf, hard of hearing and hearing audiences.
In dance performance (TE) STIL we connect the world of deaf, hearing-impaired and hearing people. (TE)STIL is a crossover between dance, sign language and photography, danced by a deaf and a hearing dancer, made for deaf, hard of hearing and hearing audiences.
With (TE)STIL we approach the audience in various ways; dance is not only visible, but also readable, music is not only audible, but also tangible and the photography creates the visual atmosphere and meeting point between all audience groups.
With (TE)STIL we investigate the theme of silence and ask ourselves; what does silence mean and what does sound mean to a human being?
(TE)STIL is a project in collaboration with photographer Claudia den Boer, created in collaboration with dancers Pawel Moleda & Johnny Lloyd, sign-language translator Rianne Havekes and visual artist Paul van Rijswijk.
